This Ocean Bluff Home, with the most spectacular view of Diamond Head, was a work of love and collaboration between conscious owners and Jamie Jackson Design.
The owners requested that the home reflect the subtle colors of the rock coast, ocean, and mountains beyond with the ever abundant sky providing as a backdrop. To achieve this, we started with the choice of a subtle limestone floor which is carried from entrance thru the house to the pool deck, meeting the rock bluff. The color palette was grey with pale greens and a touch of sun orange as accent.
The experience of the house begins with the entrance wall, which is clad with carved basalt tiles, shaped like shells, ending at a front door designed by jamie jackson, which was fashioned in teak, a ship building wood. Enter the door and the view of diamond head is framed by a massive set of sliding doors that pocket out of view, creating a truly indoor/outdoor living. The living room is outside, as well as, the main dining table, sheltered by a large overhang.
Lighting fixtures were sourced worldwide for their uniqueness and proper scale for the home. Tumbled beach glass tiles were chosen for all baths, while the team imported a glazed lava countertop for the kitchen island. Translucent resin, used in surfboards, was used to make the kitchen dining table, another nod to “place”. The end result was a custom, unique, peaceful and elegant forever home.
