Set in the heart of Honolulu’s industrial Kakaako area, this renovation included gutting the existing dark, cave like interior and transforming the space into an open, urban, loft style retail space. Complete with colored concrete floors, an exposed silver ceiling and columns wrapped in lighted “plastic”, each architectural element amplifies the product and style of Pacific Home’s vision. The open floor plan allows for easy furniture placement as well as enhances traffic flow for an optimal customer/ client experience.
Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center
One of the largest renovation projects to hit the famous Waikiki strip, the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center is a hub of action, arts and culture. Custom designed exterior furniture placed on all three levels and in all three buildings, echoes the ancient “Royal Coconut Grove” theme implemented by the design team. Oversized, curved teak furniture, sliced coconut pot benches and outdoor fabrics nostalgic of traditional Hawaiian symbols such as Limu Lei and Pipi Shell patterns, adorn the open spaces throughout.
Hart + Huntington
Tattoo parlor here in Hawaii, this space evokes both a unique and vibrant atmosphere, as well as functions as a working parlor and retail selling space. Using materials such as glass, leather, concrete and stainless steel allows the functionality needed for employees, as well as creates a visual feast for clients and customers. Implementing innovative ideas such as using plexi glass embellished with enlarged ancient Polynesian tattoo designs lit from below gives the space an edge unique to Hart and Huntington alone.
Lau Yee Chai Restaurant
The original Lau Yee Chi was built in the 1930's in Waikiki, with all of the original woodwork being handcarved in China. The 1950's saw the end of the restuarant to make way for a hotel. Now, 80 plus years later, Jamie was entrusted with all the original carvings and furnishings to remake a Lau Yee Chi for today. Recycling at its best. Jamie and artist, Chris Reiner used all the original carvings to make new chandeliers, walls and furnishings.
Mama Says Salad Bar
"MAMA SAYS" will be the first of multiple, "build your own salad", bars. The design concept revolves around a setting that is shiny clean bright and healthy, enticing the customer to build their own salad while building a healthy new lifestyle.
